The first camp finally came to an end. As you know from the previous blog entries, the spiritual warfare was intense. God used it to really bring our team together. Even after camp ended, weird things continued to happen to Liina and I. We still had transportation struggles, we were kicked out of the bank, and we received personal attacks that did not even have to do with anything with camp from some phone calls. Even with all of these attacks, God was still Great. When we believe that God is Great, we don't have to be in control.
In the local towns, we saw many lives that had been changed and are now seeking out who this God is. Our youth leaders in these two towns are so excited for this next year and the fruit that God is going to grow in his churches.
Our intern team went to Pärnu on Tuesday. It was funny how the weather was beautiful and sunny in Tartu, then by the time we got to Pärnu it had started to rain. We still played soccer on the beach as long as we could, but the rain grew in intensity. We eventually made it a local pizzeria and had hot chocolate and some food. Even in the poor weather, we were excited how many young people from camp came out to meet us for the day. Later in the evening, we had a little program to help transition these students into the church. Almost all of the students from camp came. Evelin, one of our interns, shared her story and her life. I was able to finish the story of God about what the church is. Viktor shared about what the youth group would be doing over the next few weeks. Many of the youth seemed very interested in coming back. Also, at the end of the evening, two of the girls came up to the youth leader and asked, How do we get baptized? He was a little shocked at first because there had not been very much spiritual talk at all. He was so excited he called the pastor to see how to start the process. We will wait and see what happens.
Thank you everyone for your prayers. It was a long spiritual battle and one of my hardest weeks of camp ever. We know that we served with a pure heart. Everything and everyone is still in God's hands.
