We were able to make the long 14 hour journey to Minneapolis, Minnesota to visit our dear friends Jen and Dave Cupery along with their kids, Zach and Abby. They were missionaries in Estonia for 5 years and we have a long friendship. It was great to visit with them and hear the stories of how God has moved them and put them where they are. We are excited for them and their new journey there. Though they are not in Estonia, they still found a place with the same climate, cold temperature, and snow. We all laughed about that, but it is a beautiful place full of forest
and wildlife. I am sure Dave and Zach will do a lot of fishing this summer.Because of rain, we went to the one place you can go when it is raining, the Mall of America. I think we found some culture shock since we did not know such huge indoor shop/amusement parks existed like this. It was great day of spending time talking with Jen and walking around. I think we had more fun catching up on things as we window shopped and found a few things for Liina's family. Later that evening when the kids came home from school, we had a nice dinner and then a surprise run for icecream. Surprise in that of
the size. Astronomically huge!!! Liina and I watched those before us and then figured out we would just order the half-childs size. I know, I know, but a single scoop was just way too large. The second day we spent some time at the park and also went and visited Phil
ip. Philip is on the board with Josiah Venture and an awesome supporter of Estonia. I know he is a dear friend of Peep and Märt. He showed us around his goat farm and we played for awhile together and then caught up on things. It was a great day, but I know this was a great day for Liina. She is getting use to the concept of animals, but she faced her fear and jumped in with both feet. I am so proud of her to go in with the goats and the dogs and touch them. Of couse the anti-bacterial soap came right out after, but I am still proud of her. Later that evening, I went with Dave and Abby to dog obedience school as they are training their 9 month year old labradoodle, Lumi (snow). She is a pretty cool dog that grows on you each day.
We had an amazing weekend with them and were able to talk over many things. We miss this family very much and we miss having them in Estonia, but we know that God has them right were he wants them. Luckily, Estonian skype keeps us connected.
